CRISIS SUPPORT VOLUNTEER

Serving as a crisis support volunteer is a very challenging, but rewarding experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo training to serve in a crisis support capacity. A significant time commitment is required. A minimum one year commitment is required for crisis volunteers.  Crisis Volunteers must undergo an application and screening process. A certificate of conduct is required.

Crisis Management Training Schedule - Spring 2009

MEN'S COMMITTEE

This group encourages men to get involved with the Centre and provides a forum to come together to share ideas and perspectives about anti-sexual violence efforts.  Please call the office at 747-7757 for more information or email men@endsexualviolence.com.

AUXILIARY VOLUNTEER

Committee membership is open to auxiliary volunteers and serves as a way to get involved in the Centre without having to undergo crisis training. Committee areas include Education, Fundraising, Personnel, Men's Committee, Special Events and Finance. Committee involvement requires a moderate time investment. Auxiliary Volunteers must undergo an application and screening process. A certificate of conduct is required.

CASUAL VOLUNTEER

The Centre offers volunteer opportunities to suit all levels of time commitment. If you cannot commit to long term involvement, or training you may wish to add your name to our list of casual volunteers. You will be contacted to volunteer when a temporary need for help exists (e.g. attend events, prepare photocopies, help with fundraising, etc.).  Time investment is flexible, but usually would not be more than a few hours, several times per year.

VOLUNTARY BOARD MEMBER

Collective members (current NLSACPC volunteers) who sit on the Board of Directors are required to commit to at least 2 years of service.

Serving as a director requires a moderate to significant time investment. Board Volunteers must undergo an application and screening process. A certificate of conduct is required.

Call our office at 747-7757 or email the Volunteer Coordinator for more information about the Centre and the volunteer opportunities that are currently available. You can also request to have an application form emailed to you, by contacting the Volunteer Coordinator. If you are unable to participate in the upcoming training sessions, you may wish to have your name added to a wait list for an opportunity to have a seat at the next crisis training offered.

Request a Volunteer Application.
